The Sitkovetsky Trio has established itself as an outstanding piano trio. With its thoughtful and committed approach, the ensemble is critically acclaimed and has been invited to perform in the most prestigious concert halls worldwide – including the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Musée du Louvre in Paris, the Auditori in Barcelona, Wigmore Hall in London and the Lincoln Center in New York.
The ensemble has been awarded a number of prestigious prizes, such as the BBC Music Magazine Chamber Music Award, the NORDMETALL Chamber Music Prize of the Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Festival, the first prize of the Commerzbank International Chamber Music Competition and the Philharmonia-Martin Chamber Music Award. It has also received valuable support from well-known institutions such as the Hattori Foundation, the Musician’s Benevolent Fund, the Fidelio Trust and the Swiss Global Artistic Foundation. The trio was also supported by the Music Initiative as part of the German Neustart Kultur funding program.
In 2024, the Sitkovetsky Trio was named the resident ensemble of the Beethovenfest Bonn 2024, where it made an impression with three multi-faceted concerts and two premieres. The highlights included both a celebrated performance of the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the hr-Symphony Orchestra and the premiere of Ferran Cruixent‘s Trinity . Attendant music critics highlighted “the virtuoso and thrilling playing of the Sitkovetsky Trio, who blindly trusted each other, and which gradually took on an orgiastic aspect” (Bernhard Hartmann, GA Bonn, 30th September 2024).
Since 2014, a large number of recordings by the Sitkovetsky Trio have been released on the BIS Records label. Including a compilation with works by Smetana, Suk and Dvořák, which was enthusiastically received by critics. This was followed by further releases on the Wigmore Live label and recordings of Mendelssohn piano trios, as well as an album juxtaposing Ravel and Saint-Saëns, which was awarded the BBC Music Magazine Award, among others.
The trio continued their Beethoven cycle with the third volume at the beginning of the 2024/2025 Season. The album was named “Album of the Week” by NDR (August 2024), and Radio Bremen 2 praised it as a new benchmark recording: “You can hardly get any closer to Beethoven’s chamber music” (Wilfried Schäper, August 2024). International critics were also enthusiastic: The Times named it one of the “Best Classical Albums of 2024”: “The Sitkovetsky Trio weave their magic in Beethoven‘s work.”, while Crescendo Magazine (Belgium) named the recording their “joker absolu”.
The trio continues to impress its critics with its “sophistication in sound and articulation” (concerti, October 2024, Helge Birkelbach), its ability to oscillate “seamlessly between pausing and rushing forward” (FAZ, September 2024) and “with somnambulistic security to achieve maximum expression” (NDR, August 2024).
And so the 2024-2025 Season will also take the ensemble to the world’s most important stages. On the tour schedule in the coming months there will be concerts, among others, in Israel (Jerusalem, Haifa and Tel Aviv, January 2025), Wigmore Hall in London (March 2025), at the Heidelberger Frühling (end of March 2025) and in the Netherlands (Amsterdam, The Hague and Groningen, May 2025) . At their last concert at the Wigmore Hall in July 2024, The Strad described their performance as “magnificent” with “heart-filled lyricism” and were impressed by the large number of fans who filled the Wigmore Hall for the Sitkovetsky Trio’s concert despite the parallel Proms events.
Alexander Sitkovetsky plays the Antonio Stradivarius violin “Parera” from 1679, generously provided to him by the Beare’s International Violin Society. Isang Enders plays a cello by Carlo Tononi (Venice, 1720), on loan from the J. & A. Beare Violin Society.

Das Sitkovetsky Trio hat sich als herausragendes Klaviertrio etabliert. Mit seinem durchdachten und engagierten Ansatz erlangte das Ensemble höchste Anerkennung und wurde in die renommiertesten Konzertsäle weltweit eingeladen – darunter das Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, die Alte Oper Frankfurt, das Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brüssel, das Musée du Louvre in Paris, das Auditori in Barcelona, die Wigmore Hall in London und das Lincoln Center in New York.

Das Trio beeindruckt seine Kritiker immer wieder mit „Raffinesse in Klang und Artikulation“ (concerti, Oktober 2024, Helge Birkelbach), seiner Fähigkeit, „nahtlos zwischen Voranpreschen und Innehalten“ zu changieren (FAZ, September 2024) und dabei „mit traumwandlerischer Sicherheit zum “maximalen Ausdruck” zu gelangen“ (NDR, August 2024).
Und so führt auch die Saison 2024–2025 das Ensemble auf die bedeutenden Bühnen der Welt: In den kommenden Monaten stehen Konzerte u. a. in Israel (Jerusalem, Haifa und Tel Aviv, Januar 2025), der Wigmore Hall in London (März 2025), beim Heidelberger Frühling (Ende März 2025) sowie in den Niederlanden (Amsterdam, Den Haag und Groningen, Mai 2025) auf dem Tourplan. Anlässlich ihres letzten Konzerts in der Wigmore Hall im Juli 2024 feierte The Strad ihren Auftritt als „grandios“ mit „herzergreifender Lyrik“ und zeigte sich beeindruckt von der zahlreich erschienen Fan-Gemeinde, die die Wigmore-Hall zum Konzert des Sitkovetsky Trios trotz paralleler Proms-Veranstaltungen füllte.
